Board-Certified Foot and Ankle Physician

Vanisaben Patel, DPM

Vanisaben Patel, DPM, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon whose clinical interests include reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, diabetic wound care, and trauma. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University in Miami. Dr. Patel then completed a rigorous three-year surgical residency at Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital East in Boynton Beach, Florida, where she served as chief resident.

Training in a busy emergency care environment, Dr. Patel performed thousands of procedures for traumatic injuries and treated a broad spectrum of conditions. These experiences helped to develop her collaborative care style—she believes the best outcomes come from working closely with patients as partners in their care.

In sports medicine, she builds return-to-play plans that account for the unique demands of each sport, from cutting and pivoting in field sports to repetitive loading in distance running. Patients can expect guidance on training progressions, footwear selection, and strategies to help prevent reinjury once they’re back to full activity.

Her diabetic foot care approach blends meticulous wound management with prevention. That includes education on daily foot checks, off-loading techniques, and shoe gear, along with close coordination with primary care, endocrinology, and vascular specialists to protect limb health and speed healing.

For trauma and complex reconstructive needs, Dr. Patel’s goal is to restore alignment and function so patients can return to work and life with confidence. Care plans often pair surgical correction with structured rehabilitation and gait retraining to support durable, long-term results.

What to expect at a first visit: a thorough history, focused exam, and discussion of your goals, followed by a step-by-step plan. When advanced imaging or additional testing is needed, our expert team helps coordinate everything and keeps communication seamless so there are no surprises along the way.
